One hat trick makes you the best. Deal with it.

I'm still dealing with Kings going winless the rest of the way. Baby steps.

is how I feel after reading that. Bonino has been mostly disappointing this year after the great run of the HBK like last year into and throughout the playoffs.

EDIT: And insinuating that he is the main catalyst behind Kessel is simply ridiculous. Kessel played fine with Malkin before he got hurt and the HBK line was formed. He stays with Bonino because rolling 3 lines is the most effective way to cause matchup problems for opposing teams.

I view Bonino like this years Brandon Sutter. To say he had near the same impact as Sullivan is laughable. He plays his role well, is elevated by the talent around him, and some other team is going to way overpay for his services because of this. He has not been very good this year and someone is going to give him 4 - 5 mil a season for around 5 years. They will quickly find out he is not worth that (how's Sutter doing in Van?).

One game doesn't make up for the season. If he plays well in the post season again, great. But the Pens shouldn't pay anymore than 2.5/3 per season at most to keep him.

Edit: not to mention, with an injury depleted team, Bonino has seen his TOI cut to single digits over the last 6 games because his play has been so sub-par. He's a decent depth player that GMs will overvalue from playing on a talented team.

Rutherford won't screw up like Holland did and pay third liners top 6 money. If Bonino wants to stay in Pitts he'll have to take what JR offers him.

Is Bonino that good or is it him playing on the 3rd line with a guy like Kessel?

I like Bonino, he shows up in the moments you need it, but other times he does not so he will not be paid the big bucks, at least not by Pitt I hope. We can't give out a Fernando Pisani deal...

he's another tyler bozak, but maybe a bit more defensively responsible than bozak.

looks good on pitts playing behind malkin and crosby

What does his poop got to do with it?

Or does CF mean "Colon flush"?

Honestly Bonino is a solid player... but he's a 3c on any team, I get he won the cup, but he has really good wingers (arguably NOT 3rd line wingers) that make his job so much easier. Any team that offers this guy anything over 4m AAV is shooting themselves in the foot.

Bonino has been very hit or miss. Like other Pens fans have said, someone will overpay him next season and this will definitely be his last year as a Penguin, especially if the Pens make another deep playoff run.

i think the last 5 years of failed trades have pretty much proven that no team wants Bozak
